Parents are welcome to check out books through Holland’s Library. Parents that have a FUSD ID number can check books out under their name, if not, books are checked out under their child’s name.
Reading Incentives:
- Word of the Week: 4th-6th grades participate. Mrs. Gonzales highlights a novel in our library for the month and each week a word is selected from the novel to be highlighted and discussed. Participation of students: usage of dictionary, learning to use the word in a sentence, definition of the word, and pronunciation of the word. Students who participate receive a bookmark, or pencil.
- Story Time: Preschool-TK-Kinder. Mrs. Gonzales utilizes story time to encourage the younger students to read. Mrs. Gonzales reads a story or two to the children, then they choose a book of their own choice and sit and enjoy reading.
